At Ground Up Studio, we understand what having an active life entails. Whether that’s a tight back after a round of golf, sore knees from a day on the slopes, or a rolled ankle from a run on the trails, we can help treat your condition and get you back to the activities you love. By providing hands-on care to reduce your pain, teaching you therapeutic exercises you can do at home, and educating you on how to listen to your body, you can accelerate your healing and return to your life pain free.
At Ground Up Studio, we treat people who experience chronic pain, including those with fibromyalgia, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and chronic neck and/or back pain. Chronic pain may also refer to the person who remains active but has certain areas of their body that feel stiffer, weaker, or painful, and is holding them back from what they enjoy doing. After a thorough discussion, we will work to isolate the root causes of your symptoms. Our treatment approach uses a combination of skilled manual therapy, focused exercises, and lifestyle recommendations to make major improvements in your quality of life.
Many people are familiar with the term migraines for headaches; however, there are two other types of headaches that arise from the neck; tension headaches and cervicogenic headaches. These headaches typically arise from tight muscles or stiff joints, and often respond well to a combination of various manual therapies and specific exercises to improve mobility and stability, while simultaneously offloading tension.
Pain in your spine, neck, or back can come from multiple different sources, can occur at seemingly random times, and can sometimes travel down your arm or leg. While this can be unsettling and/or painful, at Ground Up Studio we will perform all the appropriate clinical tests to determine the exact cause of your symptoms (muscle, bone/joint, or nerve) and begin treatment immediately. Through a combination of skilled manual therapies and guided exercises focused on your specific needs, we aim to help you get the most out of your movement.
Concussions can impact everything from poor sleep quality to focus and concentration. Most patients typically have frequent headaches, dizziness, difficulty focusing, or memory issues. If you have had symptoms for more than 3 weeks, you may have a condition called “post-concussion syndrome” that requires specific treatment to heal your brain and restore your body’s function. Through discussion of symptoms and use of specific testing of your vestibular-occular-motor systems, we can determine exactly what impairments are limiting you and what treatments you will need to get better.
Vestibular issues can greatly impact your balance and quality of life. At Ground Up Studio, we treat acute dizziness, often called “vertigo” as well as long-term dizziness, light-headedness, and balance issues which may be from a prior head injury or ear infection. After discussing your history, we will perform several tests to determine what part of your vestibular system is impacted to determine the best course of treatment for you. Treatment is often a combination of manual therapy to improve blood flow to your head and loosen stiff muscles/joints, and specific exercises focused on eye/head movements, balance and proprioception training.
