Tom, Doctor of Physical Therapy

Tom has been a practicing Doctor of Physical Therapy for over a decade, immersing himself in orthopedics and sports medicine. He brings a unique perspective to every interaction with his clients and is focused on finding the root cause of their symptoms. He enjoys combining his creativity, compassion, and expertise to utilize the best treatments for every specific case, with emphasis on educating his patients to improve their understanding of their body. He employs an integrated approach, assessing all areas of movement, while also discussing lifestyle factors that could be contributing to symptoms.

Tom is also an adjunct professor with the University of Hartford’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program where he teaches Nutrition and Business, and assists in the Anatomy and Orthopedic labs. He also serves on the Town of Avon’s Inland Wetland Commission and the Board of Directors of the Avon Land Trust.

In addition to his doctoral degree, Tom has earned the following advanced certifications:

  • Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS)
  • Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT)
  • Certified Nutritional Physical Therapist (CNPT)
  • Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT)
  • ImPACT Trained Physical Therapist (ITPT)

“I believe that the point of life is to find people and activities you love, and combine them as much as possible. For me that’s skiing, bouldering, playing golf, paddling, backpacking, and gardening. I’d love to connect with you and help get you back to the activities you love.”
